Teeny Tiny Screws
Losing a lens for your glasses is not a fun way to start the day. Naturally, after 30 minutes of scouring the living room, the bedroom, the front patio, the lens appeared on the credenza, right next to where I put my frames.
The thing about having a lens pop out is that the screw to fix the damn specs is so teeny, you can’t see it without your glasses. Conundrum.
So my day started out with me driving to the spec shop to get my glasses fixed. More like a Monday than a Friday if you ask me.
Had a great time on SecondHand Radio last night with Elisa Camahort of BlogHer. The podcast is available for download now, either at the Talkshoe page or through iTunes. Listen and hear as Elisa promises to give me all of her drink tickets at BlogHer in Chicago this summer, and that the next time there’s a “Naked Blogging” track at BlogHer whipped cream will be involved.
OK, maybe not that last bit. But I’m working on it.

I had that happen with my daughter’s glasses a few times, and I made her get some extra screws, put them on a piece of tape and tape it up somewhere obvious like her corkboard in her room. That way they’re always “feelable”.

@whall, Even when the screws are feelable, I can’t put them in without being able to SEE them. Good idea to keep extras on hand, though.

Ain’t that a bitch? I hate when that happens.
Off to listen to the download.

Awh sweetie, I would have fixed them for ya if I’d been there! Glad you can see again though! How did you manage to drive without the glasses?!?

@TMWW, Next time a lens falls out, I’ll call you. I can see fine without the glasses, but when it comes to reading, that’s where I need them. So driving wasn’t a problem at all. I can read road signs and everything, it’s just close up I have trouble with.

I frequently can’t find things that are right where they logically should be. Makes me nuts!!
Glad you got ‘em fixed, though!
I hope this coming Thursday I can stay awake to listen to the show!!
