Virtual Memorial Service for Lisa this Saturday

By Secondhand Karl on March 4th, 2009

Blue Steel! Karl and Lisa Clusterfook

This Saturday is Lisa’s funeral service. Most of us can’t make it, so I thought a virtual memorial service would be a good thing.

This Saturday at 4:00 PM Eastern, 1:00 PM Pacific, I hope you’ll come along and invite all friends of Lisa to a special memorial service on Talkshoe.

There will be a chat room available during the show. Everyone is welcome to call in and share their stories about Lisa. And I hope we can also raise some money during the show for Lisa’s family.

Showtime: 4:00 PM Eastern, Saturday, March 7

If you’re not already registered at Talkshoe, please do so before Saturday if you plan to attend.

I’ve scheduled the show for two hours, but we can go as long as we want.

Please spread the word. I’d love to have as many people there as possible.

EDIT: Thanks to @cheekysweetie for pointing me in this direction…you can now have meals delivered to Lisa’s family through Make & Take Gourmet, which is in their local area.

Call 610-376-2006, ask for Kimberly. Tell them you’d like to have a meal delivered to Lisa Kelly’s house. Meals with 1 entree and 2 sides start at $25. They have Lisa’s address, you just have to mention what day you’d like the meal delivered. I scheduled a delivery for Friday and I know John and the girls can use all the home-cooked meals they can get.

What a great idea Karl! I’m going to try to get online during that time to be there. I’ll mention it on my site too.

Hey Karl, this is a very nice thing you’re doing… but I hope you won’t think less of me if I don’t attend. I’ve said my peace on Lisa on my blog, and right now I just want to remember her as I knew her. To sit around chatting for an hour about how much we miss her and how sad we are that she’s gone would just depress me further, and I’m trying really hard to get rid of those feelings and just be happy for what I time I got to know Lisa. I know for some people this kind of thing is helpful, but I’m not one of those people. It doesn’t mean I care any less, it just means I have a different way of dealing with things. Hopefully that’s something everybody can understand. :-(

@Dave2, Yeah, I hear you. Totally understandable. I know it’s not for everyone. I loved your post about her.

Karl, Jared and I will be out of town celebrating our anniversary this weekend. I think it’s a great opportunity you’re giving people to remember Lisa and I’ll stop and say a prayer at that time.

Oh man! First we’re taking the kids to Universal for their birthdays on Saturday, and TalkShoe won’t let me participate…. just freezes my lap top. Still… good idea.

@Blondefabulous, Well, birthdays take priority, that’s for sure. Have fun at Universal. One of these days we’ll have to figure out what the hell is wrong with Talkshoe on your laptop.

@Finn, Thanks. I was getting a lot of questions about how out-of-towners could help out with the meal situation. Glad @cheekysweetie got in touch with me.

Karl, that meal thing is just an amazing idea. Cheers to @cheekysweetie for the idea and cheers to you for implementing it. What a great way for anyone from anywhere to be of help and support in a meaningful, concrete way to Lisa’s family. I hope they’re fed and cared for for as long as they need to be.

Karl – you are awesome. I have twittered and facebooked this. you are testimont to true friendship because at times like this family are too torn to be functional – and they aught not have to be concerned with arrangements like this in anycase.

@Annie, Thanks for helping get the word out. Yeah, Lisa’s family have enough on their mind already. They’re very welcome to the virtual memorial, but I’m certainly not planning on them being there. They’ll be at the funeral that afternoon, anyway.
