Finally, I have my new specs. Got them this afternoon after waiting what seemed an eternity. That’s what happens when you order a new pair of glasses a few days before Christmas.
So here they are. What do you think? I like ‘em. Nice. Nike frames, antiglare lenses. Really makes a difference, that antiglare thing.
My holidays were okay. Nothing great. Far too many Christmas parties in a 24-hour period with far too many people I don’t know, but hey, that goes with the territory, I suppose.
New Year’s? Blah. I did nothing. Seriously. Stayed home, didn’t even watch the ball come down this year. Just wasn’t feeling it, you know? I did finish off the year with some Bailey’s Irish Cream, however, which is a plus.
So it’s 2009. Woo hoo! Huh, feels kind of like when I turned 40. And 30. Not. Much. Difference. Now, 21…that was a huge year! I could drink, legally. Actually, you know what? I didn’t even get carded on my birthday so that wasn’t much different, either.
Now 18 – that was a big difference. For real. My dad left the day before my birthday and went back to New York to meet up with the rest of my family, leaving me stranded in New Mexico, on my own for the first time. But I’m not bitter. *sigh* Good times. At least I finally got laid that year.
Anyway, back to the present. 2009. This is THE YEAR, I can feel it! Or maybe that was just the burrito/enchilada combo platter I had for dinner.
Speaking of the new year, when the bloody hell are we hearing about the next TequilaCon location?! Huh? When?
This is going to be a different year for me. I’m stepping out more, making my moves on society, jumping up to the top of the tallest building in Sebring (1-1/2 stories) and shouting, “Yee Ha! I’ve got you by the balls, world! Your ass is mine! Soylent Green is PEOPLE!”
I’m making some more friends, practicing my lame suave moves on non-inflatable women, tapping into my inner child, and just rocking the fucking casbah in general.
Yes! I’ve got new specs and a new outlook. I even got a haircut today, which removed 93.7% of the remaining blonde/red out of my hair. That didn’t take long at all. It’s only been since, oh, September.
I’m clearing out my Tivo, which really isn’t a Tivo but I still call it a Tivo much the same way as I call all transparent tape Scotch tape or all diet colas Diet Cokes or all sex a miracle. I’m downloading new songs that will expand my already expansive horizons, but not doing it illegally because that’s just not right and I’d never do such a thing, even if the RIAA isn’t prosecuting such horrible behavior that I don’t do.
I’m reading more books, some without pictures. I’ve subscribed to a Mac magazine to get myself all psyched up for getting a Mac this year. Sure, it’s kind of confusing, since I don’t get 80% of what they’re talking about, but I can oooh and ahhhh over the pretty pictures, since I’m reading more books that don’t have illustrations.
I’m going to travel to at least two places I’ve never been before. One of them will probably be TequilaCon (which I’m desperately hoping will be somewhere in the south that I haven’t been before). The other? Who knows? I’m wild, I’m free, and I’m only half on welfare due to my Neverending Dental Adventure.
I’m going to call my friends more often. Or email them, at least. I’m taking more time to read blogs. OK, some time.
I want to widgetize my blog and clean it up. Not that I know how the fuck to do that.
I’m cleaning my room!
All right, no, that’s going too far. I just crossed the line into insanity. Don’t panic, people, I’m OK. I know where my limits are.

I love your new specs! They are so cool! If I ever get a new pair of glasses, I’m bring you with me. Even if it’s just via my cell phone where I’m taking pictures and getting your advice
