Nothing to See Here

By Secondhand Karl on September 24th, 2008

Karl at night

I know, the last dare isn’t here yet. It’s gonna be postponed more. Hopefully it’ll be worth the wait. Gonna be a few days, at least.

I haven’t been feeling all that great the last several days. On top of that, my face is molting, thanks to the massive sunburn I got at the Barack rally on Saturday. Lotion is my friend.

I actually started reading a novel last night. First time in a long time. I got some great books for my birthday, thanks to a lot of you, and I decided to start reading “Twilight,” mostly because it’s about vampires and I dig that sort of shit. It’s also the mood I’m in. Watched the first couple of episodes of “True Blood” on HBO, the pilot during a free HBO weekend, and the second episode when I was staying with Britt over the weekend. I like it.

Depression is coming back in waves again, too.  Loneliness. Blecch.

In short, I have nothing interesting – certainly nothing positive – to say. But I wanted to get it out there, anyway.

Just think…there is only a little over a month until the Halloween party and I know that will fuel your fire and cheer you up! Think of how many friends you will get to see!

Juli is obsessed with the Twilight series. I got halfway through the first one and lost interest. I hate being that way. Can’t remember the last time I read an entire book.

I’m sad that you’re getting sad. Life with depression sucks bigtime.

I just finished TWILIGHT…I liked it very much, but I’d be interested in hearing what you think of it, being a guy and all. My fear is that it will turn out to be too much of a chick book for you.

This reminds me that I have a copy of the next book waiting to be picked up at the library. Must do that soon!

I’m sorry that your depression is kicking in…take care of yourself!

Motley didn’t like Twilight so I didn’t bother. Our taste in vamps is similar. I couldn’t get into the Sookie Stackhouse books either. I just prefer the Betsy vampire books and Katie MacAlister’s vamps… I’ll have to see what I can do about getting you some ‘different’ vamps. Hope you start feeling better soon. Maybe I should have you critique my new story… it’s amusing. It might cheer you up!

Except morning works even better for me. Especially since it is morning right now.

    Hopefully your depression subsides soon!

I’m sorry to hear your depression is coming back, but if you are lonely, you could always go to another political rally with Britt and Avitible. here were lots of people there! If not, just pop over to Sarasota to see me.

Dude, when (if) you finish that Twilight book, I’d love to read a review (from a guy, not a mommyblogger who also likes 90210 and other crap) so I can tell if it’s worth reading.

My BFF showed up at my door the other day with those 2 books. She shoved them at me insisting that I will love them. :)

I hope things pick up a bit honey…

Ack, sunburn, that’s not good. Probably why you’re feeling sick and down, sun poisoning. I always get sick when exposed to to much sun. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Really looking forward to Dare #5.

I’m not so sure if I’d like the Twilight series, even though I’m a major scifi geek. I am enjoying Trueblood, though. Actually I’m in scifi geek heaven with all the programs out right now.

Someone recommended “Twilight” to me the other day…spooky. I’m right with you on the depression thing. I had nothing to say either, so I posted a video of the end of the world. Blaaah.

I like the Twilight series. Although the last book she was working on, some jackass posted it online. So, she in turn did the same and stopped writing it altogether. I haven’t made it over to her site to read what she posted.

    *hugs*

I enjoyed Twilight. True Blood is also based on a series, too, but I never got into it.

Hilly – Very true, that’s something to look forward to.

SJ – There are times I can’t read books. Freaking ADD. Lately it hasn’t been too bad, though. So far, so good. I’m a few chapters in.

Tracy – Thanks. Liking “Twilight” so far. Kind of wish it would pick up a bit, though.

    DutchBitch – Thanks, hon.

Winter – I’m only about 80 pages in so far. I’ll let you know what I think once I get further in.

Charlene – Glad to hear you’re doing well. :)

Penny – Thanks for the BNL reference.

Blondefabulous – One political rally in my lifetime is one too many.

SciFi Dad – I’ll let you know, dude.

Lisa – It’ll be great to see you!

    Princess – Thanks.

Michelle – There are some good ones out there.

Fox – It’s the end of the world as we know it.

Kyra – Man, I hate asshats. Wonder how someone got a hold of her manuscript.

Avitable – Yeah, I knew True Blood was based on a series. Never read it, though.

Saw you got the books, other people were talking about them, ran out bought the first one and it was good, but it is the slowest of the four (I have yet to finish the online piece of the 5th book, so pissed it’s not gonna be a book). I read all four in a week, best books ever! One book is over 700 pages, I had to stay up all night to read them, kids give me a hard time with all the interruptions during the day and all. My oldest just started Twilight last night and she was mad I made her go to bed at 10, an hour past her bedtime.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Twilight really is a great series. I’m mad about the pre-posting of the fifth book too – it kills me.

I hope you feel better soon – depression suuuuuuucks.

Get Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion with Aloe – it’s like Heaven in a bottle for sunburns.

    Poppy – I so need a hug.

Sheila – I’ll have to check that lotion out.

Anissa – Oh, we do. Just not 24-7.

Nat – Yeah, this time of year does rather blow.

    Stephanie – Thanks.

I guess I’m not the only one who has depression issues when the seasons change. September is usually bad for me. Tom took me to New Smyrna last week because he knows the beach always cheers me up.

Things to be happy about-HotFlorida summer is almost over. Halloween is almost here. You have a bunch of cool blog friends that really care about you.
