Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Why exactly did I agree to this every-day blogging thing again? My ass is dragging. Hard. I went to bed at midnight, got up at 3am, on the road at 4:30am, at Orlando airport at 6am. Park, shuttle bus, terminal, baggage, security, tram, terminal, breakfast, half an hour at the gate on the laptop, pretty much crashed before the plane even took off…and woke up about 20 minutes before landing.
Then my buddy – the one I’m staying with – has this voicemail on my cell, saying he thought I was arriving TOMORROW. Nice. So he and his wife were out and about – him at work, her running errands – and she wouldn’t be back in the house until 1:30pm. I landed at TEN, people. That’s 3-1/2 hours of pretty much nowhere to go, when all I really wanted to do was crash for a few hours.
Never happened. I got my rental car (with GPS because it’s been a while and there are new roads and shit, plus I’m going to Oklahoma this weekend, I think) and drove out of DFW airport, trekking along the familiar 635. I figured I’d go eat lunch, even though I was only thinking COFFEE. Had a barbeque beef sandwich at a deli and then moved along to Panera Bread because they have COFFEE and free wifi. The wifi was a fickle bitch, though, and took me 20 minutes to get it going. Just what I needed.
How addicted am I to the Net? I screamed a little “Yay” when I finally saw the login screen.
I wish I had more of a post in me, but I don’t. I’m just not cut out for this little amount of sleep any more. I’m getting old(er). The body needs rest. What little energy I had left is drained because of a cyclone of an 18-month-old boy. Kids love me and I love them. I think it’s because we’re at the same maturity level.
Tomorrow I go to visit my daughters about two hours’ drive away. I’m excited, of course. At least I WILL be after my brain is working properly once again. Or at least MORE properly.
I’d love to catch up on Twitter and blogs and all that jazz, but zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Keep an eye on Twitter tomorrow. I’ll continue sending Twats from my cell, along with the occasional pictures. Maybe they’ll be more entertaining.

Have a great time seeing your girls, Karl. And I know I’m a little late getting around to commenting on one of your posts (you wouldn’t believe how backed up one’s feeds get when one doesn’t use the Internet for six goddamn days) but it was great seeing you again too.

Dude, don’t fall asleep while you’re driving! I did that once, and woke up in Gila Bend, Arizona.

Well, on the plus side, you could have been staying with someone who would kill you, have sex with your corpse, and then feed your body to their dogs.

Do you need some photos of me to bring to your daughters?

Amanda, Iron Fist, Mindy, Winter – thanks!
Hello – I have no idea what I dreamed last night. Sounds like you need a new phone.
Penelope – I know, it’s killing my rep!
Turnbaby – Lord, I hope not. I don’t know, though.
SJ – I won’t. I’m awake now.
Bubblewench – thanks!
Avitable – Good point. You’re such a “glass is half full” kind of guy.
Fab – Um, no, I think we’re covered.

On the bright side, at least you had a rental so you weren’t spending 3.5 hours in the airport. Or, you know, what Avitable said.

Hope you got some rest. And have fun with the family visits. And more coffee will help you keep up with the little guy.

I recommend Monster Java for situations like that. Nothing will wake you up faster. I can’t drink it in the afternoon or I’ll be up ’till 5am, wired.

Hilly – thanks! I had an AWESOME time.
Finn – thank you!
Lynda – very true.
Martymankins – Yeah, I had a large coffee on the way down and another on the way up. Two hour drives…ugh.
John – thanks, dude. It was an amazing day.
Motley – Monster Java? Never heard of it.
