Ugh

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. That's what all the cool kids do. Thanks for visiting!

So I’ll post about my last couple of days in Dallas soon. For now, I just got the blog finally working on the new host (Laughing Squid), but the actual post links appear to be 404. Ugh.

I was scheduled to fly out at 8:50 this morning. Boarded just fine, even got “upgraded” to the exit row. But they had trouble with some cockpit sliding window. Supposed to be a few minutes. 2-1/2 hours later still on the tarmac and NOT in the air, they took us all off the plane since the plane was officially out of service. And it was within the last 10 minutes of the movie “National Treasure: Book of Secrets.” Ugh.

20 minutes later, they announce the whole flight is canceled, so I (in my infinite wisdom) called American Airlines, rather than wait in line at the gate. Got the last seat on a 4:45pm flight. Went outside security, made out a couple of times, and got my new ticket. Then I took the shuttle bus to Terminal A, went BACK though security, and ate lunch at TGI Fridays.

Now I’m totally sitting in the Admiral’s Club just so I can smoke without going through security again. I have a couple of hours on my hands. I hope I can get the blog fixed by then, but I’m not counting on it.

Good luck with the blog and the trip home.

And this is why I’m scared to move my blog somewhere else. Even though mediatemple is looking sexier and sexier.

But there again AQHost have always been good to me. Oh, now I feel guilt for thinking of leaving them. One thing is sure - I will stay with an American company!

It looks like it’s working now, but Twitter isn’t. Grr. Have a safe flight home!

  4. Cissa Fireheart on May 15, 2008 5:36 pm

Hope you make it back to FL safe and sound! Twitter is sucky right now, but you should be in the air right now anyway :)

mmm, TGI Fridays…one thing I miss about Taiwan. The only ones that are in Canada are not close to here. Oddly enough, TGI Fridays in Taiwan and in the Philippines have different menus. Weird.

Hopefully you’ll make it home without the interruption of another movie!

Maybe the planets are trying to tell you to stay in Dallas

Good luck getting it all together!
I’ve been amused by your frustrated posts on Twitter!
    Traveling can suck. :)

Mmmmmm…I was reading your ‘About me’ section, particularly your byline of: “I’m a writer. A lover, not a fighter. An amateur philosopher…”
and wondered a bit if you would be up for the challenge of a meme I tagged you for. (I wanna see what you’re made of!) :)~~

    Please check my site.

Good god… I hate airline delays. We had one last October to LAX which put us late to the film festival we were going to (thanks to being stuck in traffic on the 110 and 101).

At least you got to make out and eat at TGI Fridays. Love Friday’s… great food and big ass drinks with shitloads of booze in them.

I so love airports….so jealous. I hope you get/got home ok. Looking forward to reading more!!Robin (from tequliacon)

Is it selfish of me to want you home now now now so we can go back to catching up on a regular basis?

    Well so what?

    I missed you!

Good call on the webhost, dude. Have a great flight home!

I would have complained about missing the end of the movie. That’s just cruel.

I think there’s a place called Admiral’s Club in this area, and I suppose you could say it’s for frequent flyers of a different variety.

    Lynda - thanks!

Bec - I think you want to talk to Dave about Media Temple. He has a love/hate relationship with them.

Winter - Yeah, all is as it should be, thanks to the amazing Jester.

Cissa - Thanks, finally made it home safely last night.

Tobi - Never been to Taiwan. And there was no movie on the second flight. Plus they charged $2 for headsets. Forget that noise.

Kevin - I think you’re right, but I managed to get home okay. Take two.

Sybil - Well, if you can’t be amusing during your tech troubles, then you might as well give up.

Greeneyezz - I’m dreadfully behind on blogs right now, but I’ll check it out.

Martymankins - Yeah, delays are inevitable. The great thing about it was that my luggage arrived in Orlando before I did…no waiting!

    Robin - Hiya!

Hilly - Miss you, too. We’ll catch up tonight.

Iron Fist - Thanks for the tip again. Glad I switched before I got slammed by the old host.

Whit - It WAS cruel. Good movie, too.

Kapgar - Hmmm, I’ll have to check it out. :)
