Freaky Frakkin’ Friday!

Today is Freaky Frakkin’ Friday! What does that mean? It means that I’m going to go Woopra all over your ass today. Woopra is a very cool live statistics program for Wordpress users…well, Wordpress users that are self-hosting. As of now, you can’t use Woopra on Wordpress.com.

What’s so cool about it? Well, it shows LIVE stats. And I mean LIVE. Nearly instantaneous. You show up on my blog and I know about it right then and there. Like so.

If you click on this image you can see on the world map there are two visitors on my site. One of them is me, and the other is someone else. I can see exactly what pages people are viewing on my site, along with numerous other things such as the operating system they’re using, the browser, the screen resolution, etc.

Of course there are plenty of other stats available.

Here I can see the top referrers of people to my site, all of the countries people are visiting from, the top search strings that bring people here, and all of the pages viewed on the blog. It’s just freaking amazing.

One of the really cool features of Woopra is that I can actually CHAT with people reading my blog while they’re on my site. It doesn’t require any software on your part. If you’re viewing pages on my blog, I can click the “Start a conversation” link and just start chatting.

This is where the Freaky Frakkin’ Friday comes in. Now on Fridays I’ll be randomly chatting people up while they’re visiting my blog. It could be any time, but I’m going to spread these chats throughout the day. You never know when I’m watching. And yeah, I’ll freak people the frak out, thus the Freaky Frakkin’ Friday.

Today I’ll be randomly selecting people that I chat with to win prizes! That’s right, just for visiting my blog today and chatting with me (if you’re so lucky to be selected) you could win a great prize. To be fair about it, I’ve randomly selected three times throughout the day when I’ll be looking at Woopra. The first person that pops up onto my site after the appointed times will be hit up for a chat. And they’ll win a button! All you’ll have to do is e-mail me using the e-mail address I give you in the chat…give me your name and mailing address and I’ll send you your prize.
